Many of us who either grew up in, or started riding while living in Southern California have Mammoth to thank as our introduction to what this shit is all about. The road trip, breathtaking nature of the sierras on the 395, mountains that made you feel small and of course powder days.

I painted this piece about 18 months after relocating to LA after a 10 year tour abroad. It serves as an homage to the family that has been built there from our brothers and sisters, the place that let me in on the secret and the place that is once again the first to come to mind when it rains in LA.

Celebrating the life of professional snowboarder and original Mammoth athlete, Jeff Anderson. Proceeds from the sale of "This place is like a brother to me" keep his legacy alive with a fun day of shredding with Jeff’s friends and family on the mountain he grew up on.
